A scarce example of a precious topaz necklace dating to the 18th century.  Each stone is foil-backed in sterling silver. The necklace is removable from the pendant, allowing it to be worn as a brooch. In the period, it would have been convertible into a stomacher, worn sewn on a gown or a ribbon high on the neck. Portuguese in origin. Circa 1780.

Measures 16" in length. The girandole is 2.5" and the drop measurement is 2.5". Hidden push tab closure at back. It lays beautifully on the neck and would be great layered. Wearable and Rare.
