Georgian Era Amethyst Ring
Rare, 18th century foil-backed ring. A light-colored octagonal amethyst stone is set in 18k gold. The original reeded back and shank show some of the rings 200 years of age. The foil behind the stone has oxidized over time, giving a mottled but alluring reflection. Found in Switzerland. Circa 1770.
