Early Victorian Emerald and Rose Cut Diamond Locket with Glazed Panel

Early Victorian emerald and rose cut diamond locket with glass panels. Stones set in silver topped gold setting. English in origin. Circa 1840.  Lockets like these were intended to hold keepsakes of beautifully plaited hair.  Please inquire about having your loved one's hair placed inside.  Examples pictured here. 

The locket is also lovely worn with the glass compartment left empty, as pictured.
