Georgian Era Twisted Hoop Gemstone Earrings
A rare example of a Georgian era hoop earrings. Flat cut garnets are set in gold cutaway settings. The unusual form is similar to French poissarde earring designs. Twisted detail reveals the garnets all the way around. The foil-backed settings have a beautiful dark patina. These light and delicate earrings are typical of the period, with back-to-front fittings. Europe, Circa 1800.
